Supporting Magdalene

Supporting your College

The state-of-the-art award-winning New Library, much loved by current students, will continue to benefit the resident College body for generations to come. This fantastic building is a testament to the generosity of our Members and Friends; it is also a reminder of just how much can be achieved when a community comes together in support of an institution like Magdalene.

We continue to raise funds in support of our people to support undergraduate bursaries and support postgraduate students and our work to do more in these areas continues. We are also focussing on strengthening teaching and the pastoral resources available to our students including offering additional support for those struggling with their mental health. The Student Welfare and Mental Health Fund set up last year has resonated with many of our donors and we continue to raise funds for it.

The Pepys Restoration Project is taking shape and work is underway on planning the complete renovation of this unique Grade l listed building which is not only part of the College but our national heritage. We plan to move the Academic Office into the heart of Magdalene by siting it on the ground floor of the Pepys Building; to create additional teaching spaces and Fellows’ studies but also make the Pepys Library on the first floor accessible to those who may struggle with stairs. Please do contact the Development Director if you wish to discuss the Pepys Restoration Project.

Donations for the Unrestricted Funds are hugely important as they allow the Senior Bursar to respond to immediate pressing needs swiftly and generously when unexpected and exceptional financial difficulties arise, be that for our people or the College.

Thank you for choosing to continue to support Magdalene particularly at this economically challenging time as every single gift makes a very real difference. The College has thrived on the generosity of supporters over the centuries, but more Members and Friends are supporting the College today than ever before.
